GCH CH Maverick Painted Lady, ROM, AOM

In the fall of 2015, our journey with “Violette” began when our foundation bitch, GCH Sunndland’s Ladybird, “Hattie,” welcomed a remarkable litter of eight puppies sired by GCHB Wyndlair Point Given,  “Xander.” This pivotal litter produced two of our brightest stars, BISS GCH Maverick Painted Lady ROM, CCA Best of Variety 2018, CCA Award of Merit 2019— “Violette,” and MBISS MG1 GCHS Maverick Fanfare, ROM, CCA Select Bitch 2019, Westminster BOV 2021— “Fannie.”

From an early age, “Violette” stood out with her elegance and presence. She exhibited a beautifully long and lean head with exquisite eye shape and chiseling, a strong yet curvy outline, fluid movement, and a balanced body. Her graceful and calm demeanor only added to her charm.

Violette made an impressive show ring debut as a youngster, earning two major Specialty wins and a significant Best of Breed win at just 18 months of age, triumphing over many seasoned specials. After stepping away to have her first litter, she returned to the ring under the expert handling of Nick Joines and Joel McCarty. Together, they guided her to finish her championship and compete as a special, where “Violette” continued to shine with several Select and Best Opposite Sex to Best of Variety wins at the most competitive East Coast specialty shows.

In 2018, Violette gave us an unforgettable moment at the Collie Club of America National Specialty, where she won Best of Variety Rough under judge Gwen Means with Nick at her side. This achievement, coming during our ten-year anniversary in the breed, propelled Violette to #3 on the Top 10 Hawkins list for 2018—a milestone we cherish.  After this significant victory, she had her second litter, and understanding her preference for a quieter life, we let her retire as our cherished house dog.

We brought her out one final time for the 2019 Collie Club of America National Specialty, where she again made us proud with an Award of Merit win under judge Matt Stelter—a wonderful closing to her brief but celebrated show career.
